Descripción
QRuunu is a free QR code generator, right inside your WordPress admin. Style a QR code (dot/corner shape, solid or gradient colors, logo upload, transparent background), then export it as PNG or SVG, or save it straight to your Media Library. No download-then-reupload round trip.
- Fully free. No account, no license key, no feature gate. Everything below is included.
- Every common QR content type: URLs, plain text, phone numbers, SMS, email, WhatsApp, Wi-Fi network credentials, and vCard contact cards.
- Real styling control: dot shape, corner shape, solid or gradient colors per element, transparent background, logo upload.
- Presets. Save a style as a named preset and reuse it across codes.
- Save to Media Library. The exported image lands directly in your own WordPress install, not just a browser download.
Looking for branded short links (your own domain instead of a third-party one), scan analytics, geo/device rules, or password-protected links? Those live in a separate, self-hosted add-on, QRuunu Pro (https://qruunu.com). It’s not part of this plugin, and it’s not required to use anything above.
QRuunu comes from the Finnish word kruunu, meaning «crown». Because the QRs are your own.
External services
This plugin makes no calls to any external service. It has no license concept, no account, no telemetry, and no analytics of its own. Everything runs locally in your WordPress admin.
Instalación

2.0.1
- Fixed: the bundled Finnish translation never actually loaded. It shipped as
qruunu-fi_FI.po/.mo, but WordPress’s real locale code for Finnish isfi, notfi_FI.load_plugin_textdomain()was looking for a file that didn’t exist under that name. Renamed toqruunu-fi.po/.mo. - Changed: minor readme wording.
2.0.0
- Split into two plugins. Branded short links, redirects, scan analytics, dashboard, geo/device rules, password-protected links, and the analytics addons all moved to a separate plugin, QRuunu Pro (self-hosted, not on wp.org). This plugin is the standalone QR generator only, from here on. No functional change to the generator itself. It also no longer has any license concept, account, or external service calls of its own.
1.0.0
- Initial public release: QR code generator, branded short links, scan analytics dashboard, geo/device rules, password-protected links, test scan, and Matomo/GA4/Plausible analytics addons.
