Back In Stock Notifier is a WooCommerce Waitlist Pro Plugin which displays the Email Subscription form in frontend when a product is Out of Stock. When Product Back in Stock, this plugin will notifies the subscribers by email in a background process. Many of the existing plugins are loop through the subscribers to send mail so here there is many chance it will either fail/timeout. This plugin is designed to overcome this problem by sending a mail using background process, so that it will not fail till the completion of loop, by this you can turn your subscribers to customers.

This Addon is based on WPML, for sending a mail to your subscribed user based on their language will has more potential rather than sending from site language. Something Went Wrong Error

We use one layer of security to our ajax request which is WP Nonce – but due to caching mechanism from third party plugins/hosting this security nonce also cached which cause this error “something went wrong, please try again after some time”, some cases by setting up cache timeout in plugin settings reduce this kind of issue.

How to get rid of this error?

From version 2.0 we added different techniques to avoid Something Went Wrong Error – If your site has encounter such issues we suggest you to try the below steps to get rid of Something Went Wrong Error

  1. Go to Admin Dashboard -> Instock Notifier -> Settings -> Troubleshoot Settings Section -> Frontend Subscribe Form Submission via
    It has two option one is WordPress AJAX(default) and another one is WordPress REST API Route

Try change that option to WordPress REST API Route and check it out(purge your cache and check it out).

  1. If the above steps not helpful then follow the another method which is Google reCAPTCHA v3(Invisible Recaptcha) – For that you need Site key and Secret Key of v3 – Go to Admin Dashboard -> Instock Notifier -> Settings -> Google reCAPTCHA Settings -> Enable Google reCAPTCHA and Choose Version -> V3 followed by Site Key and Secret Key(both fields required in order to function properly)

  2. If v3 not helps try v2 of Google reCAPTCHA

How to override/create custom template for front-end subscribe form?

  1. Create a folder inside your current theme in the name of back-in-stock-notifier-for-woocommerce . For example:wordpress->wp-content->themes->storefront/(your theme)->back-in-stock-notifier-for-woocommerce

  2. Go to our plugin folder then inside find the templates folder. (wordpress -> wp-content -> plugins -> back-in-stock-notifier-for-woocommerce -> templates -> default-form.php)

  3. Open the templates folder and copy the file with the name of default-form.php file inside that folder.

  4. Now paste the copied file inside your theme under the folder name of back-in-stock-notifier-for-woocommerce(step 1).

  5. That’s all now you’ve successfully loaded the template from theme – here you can edit whatever you want.

Automatic Instock Email support for Third-party Stock Management from v2.4

Not all site owners manage stock inside the website, some of them manage their stock through third-party inventory management, the problem with our plugin is Automatic Instock Email not triggered/detected, because some third-party software directly updates stock into the database.

From v2.4 we methodologically implemented to keep supporting Third-party stock management to send our Automatic Instock Email. Do the following things – If you manage stock from third party inventory

Go to Admin Dashboard -> Instock Notifier -> Settings -> Troubleshoot Section -> Enable this option if you have updated the stock from a third-party inventory plugin ->Enable that checkbox option and save changes.

Now we check the product every five minutes to trigger our Automatic Instock Email when the stock status becomes «In Stock»

REST API Support

From Version 2.0 – We added support for REST API using that you can create/update/get/delete subscribers. For that you need Consumer Key and Consumer Secret

How to generate Consumer key and Consumer Secret?

We enforce our plugin to work on top of WooCommerce hence the credentials created from woocommerce(consumer key and consumer secret) can also used for our REST API Endpoint to perform different actions. Go to WooCommerce -> Advanced -> REST API -> Create Keys(with read/write permissions)

Instalación

Minimum Requirements

  • PHP version 5.6 or greater

Automatic installation

Automatic installation is the easiest option as WordPress handles the file transfers itself and you don’t need to leave your web browser. To do an automatic install of Back In Stock Notifier, log in to your WordPress dashboard, navigate to the Plugins menu and click Add New.

In the search field type “Back In Stock Notifier” and click Search Plugins. Once you’ve found our plugin with author codewoogeek you can view details about it such as the point release, rating and description. Most importantly of course, you can install it by simply clicking “Install Now”.

Manual installation

The manual installation method involves downloading our plugin and uploading it to your webserver via your favourite FTP application. The WordPress codex contains instructions on how to do this here.

Actually we sync and send the email to your subscribers in a background process and hence server crash or timeout will be ignored using our plugin, and the sent rate will be 99.99%

How to import subscribers data to my new site?

You can do this by native way of wordpress, go to Admin Dashboard -> Tools -> Export -> Subscribers -> Download Export File(xml), then later you can import that into your new site by visiting Admin Dashboard -> Tools -> Import -> Upload Downloaded XML file and Finish Import, now you’ve successfully migrated subscribers data.

Something went wrong error upon subscription?

Actually the main cause may be from your cache, where nonce also cached by your cache plugin, we suggest you to set the timeout for cache in your cache plugin settings to avoid this kind of issue, also we have alternate verification by Google reCAPTCHA v2 Checkbox with server side validation, this will validate response of google reCAPTCHA instead of WP Nonce(many people mentioned this option sort out the issue).

My site is behind BasicAuth will your plugin works?

By default if your site behind BasicAuth then our plugin won’t work is because we completely rely on HTTP API and WP Cron, but here there are some workaround solution which we listed here

How to troubleshoot if the mail was not sent?

We use WooCommerce function to send mail hence if you face any problem then most likely the same will applicable for woocommerce order email, please check if your mail server has some problem, can be confirm by installing smtp related plugins. https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-wp-smtp/

What is meant by Background Process Engine in settings page?

We send mail in a background process(queue process) and both option is doing the same process, if you choose WooCommerce Background Process you can see the detailed status about the background process in WooCommerce-> Status -> Scheduled Actions Tab, so in default you cannot track the background process activities but result are same.

Fully Compatible with Product Bundle of WooCommerce? Can you please explain the flow?

When Bundle Product(s)/any of Bundle Items was out of stock our Subscribe Form shows automatically in frontend, when any of the bundled items back in stock we automatically detect the list of bundle products where the item linked and fetch the subscribers belongs to the bundled products(we even check the bundle product and items is in stock ) and send a mail in background process.

The plugin works like a breeze with my theme, I also bought the complete suite of add-ons, which only lacks adding some CSS hover effects for buttons more easily like selecting color and background because not so many people are advanced users 😔

Great value plugin – worth the puchase

Inexpensive and well worth paying for the add-ons. We used the free version for several months and it worked so well it was a no brainer to give money to this dedicated developer. The only thing we think could be improved would be to make the stock notifications subscribe area in My Account details a little prettier. For example, proper blocks to click when unsubscribing rather than just the word 'unsubscribe'. It would help improve out integrity with customers and their shopping experience.
